Hi, I’m AJ and I’m a Filipino tattoo artist from Toronto. In Filipino history, tattooing was an integral aspect of our culture before the Spanish ever reached our shores. It survived despite the violent efforts of colonization and I like to believe that resilience is reflected in my own efforts as an artist and as a person.

In addition to that, being on the autism spectrum, I know what it’s like to be counted out and be misunderstood. I strive to provide an environment where everyone can feel like they are being given a chance - without the worry of judgment.

When I was a kid, I would doodle and draw on any surface I could find. I like to think that passion for art is what led to my position today. I focus on fine-line, illustrative, and anime tattoos. I’m drawn to art that reflects my love of visualizing narratives, whether they be from video games, movies, novels, or anything in between.
