YUKA
My name is Yuka. My work is rooted in neo-traditional tattooing, drawing deeply from the rich visual traditions of Asia: Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Indian, Korean and Tibetan-influenced art. I find inspiration in historical woodblock prints and traditional paintings, aiming to translate their beauty and integrity into tattoos while respecting their cultural and seasonal logic.
I approach each design with intention: elements must coexist naturally, seasons must align, and symbolism must feel authentic. A cherry blossom would not appear with a maple leaf, and fire and water are considered in relation to one another, never in conflict. Each piece is a collaboration, where your story meets careful research, thoughtful composition, and design that moves harmoniously with the body. I work across scales, from intimate tattoos to full sleeves and expansive compositions, always striving to honour both tradition and the flow of the individual canvas.
